Billing & Payments

Utility Deposit

A utility deposit is required from all customers. The residential deposit amount is $150 (plus a $25 service charge). The commercial deposit amount will be quoted upon request. All rental accounts will be required to have a $150 deposit plus $25 service charge.

Billing Frequency

The city bills all utility customers on a monthly basis. Utility bills are mailed by the 3rd week of the month and are due on the 1st of the following month. If the account remains unpaid after 5 p.m. on the 10th of the month, a 10% penalty fee will be added to their bill and they will be subject to disconnection.

Payment Options

If you are having difficulties paying, please reach out to the City. A Utility Payment Agreement Request is available here, can be mailed to you, or picked up at City Hall.

The city accepts utility payments through the mail, over the counter in the utility billing customer service office at Groveland City Hall, in a drop box located in the front of the City Hall building, and through direct debit payments from your checking or savings accounts.

Please note, utility accounts are not considered paid until the city has received the payment. Mail postmarks are not considered when determining when an account has been paid.

Have you water bill handy, because you will need your “account number” which is located on the left side, in the large colored circle under you name and service address. Please allow 24 hours for your payment to be posted to your water account. If your service has or is due to be disconnected, please contact the city of Groveland for expedited payment options.

Receive Telephone Notification

You can avoid water cut-off with a courtesy call from City Hall! The City of Groveland will notify utility customers by phone concerning late payments. The Autophone Computer, an automated telephone calling system, will notify customers who are a few days away from having their water service disconnected for delayed payment.

If you desire to receive a courtesy call about your account, please call our customer service representatives at 352-429-2141, option 1. By doing so, you will confirm we have your most current telephone number. It has saved many citizens from the delay of service for non-payment.

Service Fees

Please note that a code enforcement officer will follow an inspection checklist prior to the water being turned on. Please contact code enforcement officer for the checklist via email.
