NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING
In order to reduce public gatherings and the spread of COVID-19, the September 8, 2020 First Public Budget Hearing of the City Council will be held using telephonic video conferencing as authorized by Governor DeSantis in Executive Order 20-69. The public can attend the virtual meeting using one of the following options:
NOTE: Council members will be participating virtually.
JOIN BY PHONE: Members of the public can join the meeting by calling the following telephone number: 1-346-248-7799. When prompted enter the Meeting ID: 825 6704 4123 and Password: 523772.
JOIN ONLINE: In addition to calling, persons may watch the meeting by going to https://us02web.zoom.us/j/82567044123?pwd=bEhBQ3VEY09CQWx6SW9ubFdQNXRNZz09 and entering Meeting ID: 825 6704 4123 and Passcode: 523772 prior to the start of the 6:30 p.m. meeting. If you have difficulty or are unable to hear the meeting, please check your audio settings. We encourage you to use the link above and follow the prompts to download the necessary software at no cost in advance of the meeting.
PUBLIC COMMENT VIA TELEPHONE OR ONLINE PARTICIPATION: Persons desiring to provide public comment may do so by joining the virtual meeting either by participating online or by telephone. You will be required to text your name and telephone number to (352) 534-1753 in order to make public comment. The IT department will then be able to identify you from the participant window and “unmute” so that you may speak. The Mayor will call on each member of the public desiring to make public comment by stating the name and/or telephone number. You will be required to state your name and address for the record. Each person will be allotted a maximum of 3 minutes to speak during public comment.
PUBLIC COMMENT IN PERSON: Persons desiring to provide public comment may do so by attending the virtual meeting in person at the City of Groveland Puryear Building located at 243 S. Lake Avenue, Groveland, FL 34736. In order to reduce public gatherings and the spread of COVID-19 as authorized by Governor DeSantis in Executive Order 20-69, inside seating is limited and is on a first come first serve basis. Outdoor seating on the south side of the building will be available with seating spaced 6 feet apart.
For those sitting outside, anyone wishing to make public comment will be called upon and asked to form a line 6 feet apart. One person at a time will be permitted entry into the building. Please walk directly to the podium. To exit the building please walk directly to the northeast door.
Please state your name and address for the record. Each person will be allotted a maximum of 3 minutes to speak during public comment.
Members of the public are asked to sign in at the meeting. You will be provided a pen and an individual sign in sheet. Please drop the pen and sign in sheet into the boxes provided.
Please note, in order to attend the meeting you are required to wear a mask. If you do not have a mask please contact the Clerk’s Office at (352) 429-2141, ext. 2014 or via email email@example.com 2-days in advance of the meeting.
PUBLIC COMMENT VIA EMAIL: Persons desiring to provide public comment may do so by e-mail. Please include your name and address for the record. Comments will be limited to 3 minutes per person.
Persons can submit public comments in advance of the meeting by e-mailing the City Clerk at firstname.lastname@example.org. If submitted before 3 p.m. on the meeting date, the comments will be shared with the City Council prior to the City Council Meeting and read into the record during the meeting. If submitted after 3 p.m. the comments will be shared with the City Council after the meeting and retained as a public record.
