Monitoring Requirements Not Met for Groveland Water Department
We are required to monitor your drinking water for specific contaminants on a regular basis. Results of regular monitoring are an indicator of whether or not our drinking water meets health standards. During 2020 we did not monitor for asbestos and therefore cannot be sure of the quality of our drinking water during that time
What happened? What is being done?
We are required to collect asbestos samples every 9 years. This sample was due by December 31, 2020; however, we did not collect the samples until February 9, 2021.
We have since received the results of the sample and asbestos was undetected.
What should I do?
There is nothing you need to do at this time. You do not need to boil your water or use an alternative water supply.
Some people who drink water containing specific contaminants could become seriously ill. Health effects language for individual contaminants can be obtained by visiting the EPA website at:
